San Diego 2012

Well thanks to my lovely wife, I just got back from San Diego Comic Con. It was a very hard fought road to get there. After two online sells failed we were able to get 1 ticket for the first day during a resale. And that barely happened.  It was a dream come true.  The only minor dissappointment was that I spent a lot of time putting together a portfolio that nobody saw. I don't even think I looked at it myself once I got there.  I was in a couple of lotteries to get my name on a list for reviewsand was not lucky. Oh well.  But I had a great time, and as usual with any show, I was totally humbled and reminded that I STILL at my age, have a looooong wayto go.  Well, I'll keep grinding.  I have had to work on murals, signs and a few other things all the while thinking of this show and preparing and now its over.  So, any unfinished projects or people who I have not gotten to, I apologize, BUT I am back!

The new new book

I have been gone from posting a long time.  It happens.  Well here is what I have been working on. A new book that I have had the idea for for a long time.  I finally did it and it feels good. It is a two part zombie story. Zombies are in and I like it. I am a fan. Now, you may think you have seen every zombie story and it has been done...well think again. BWOOOHA HAA HAA HAA!  It will be unveiled at the Derby City Comic Con and I will have copies for sale.  This is the hardest I have worked on a comic to date.  I really tried to make this my best work.  Come see me at Derby City and pick up a copy.  Or two.  I might post a panel or two leading up to Derby City, we'll see.

Life in Comics #16 Congratulations to the 2012 Kentucky Wildcats

I figured i had to close out all my NCAA basketball posts for the 2011-2012 season with a congratulations, and a little bit of a jab. The city of Lexington, went a bit nuts before, during and after their beloved Wildcats became the college basketball champs on April 2, 2012. Seems that with partying hard in the streets comes turning over cars, and burning couches is a tradition. Somehow that one was new to me. Honestly, I know that with anything you have people who are harmless and opportunists who will take any excuse to act like an idiot. But despite that, Cats are still champs, officially.

Keep your Head up Mac

Its hard to accept defeat, but the Kentucky Wildcats are an amazing basketball team. I am not too naive or jaded too see that. I fully expect the Wildcat team to go on to win the NCAA Basketball Championship and send at least 3 players to the first round of the NBA Draft. I came up with an image to summarize my feelings and to be clever and still kinda poke a little fun at the Cats. C'mon, I HAD to do SOMETHING! Enjoy!

A Huge Day for College Basketball in the State of KY

I am a Louisville Cardinals basketball fan., A very big one. For this state, little comes close to the rivalry between the Cards and the Kentucky Wildcats (the school which I happened to attend) And for that rivalry to come to the Final Four this year is a momentous thing. And a lotta fun which inspired this Street Fighter 4 inspired image. Enjoy. Oh, I haven't posted in forever because I have been so bust finishing a mural and now working on my latest book, which I am SUPER excited about. more on that later.

Life in Comics #15: Birthday Skate

We had a skating party for the little one and I discovered something I knew, but not as well as I thought...skating is not like riding a bike. My family did fine, but I was like a cow on ice. I actually never fell, I just almost did over and over. But I was able to get around and have some father son bonding time in the center of the rink with all the other little kids and special people who were novices.
